I have a win 2000 cluster server with a sql 2000 instance=20
whitch is configured only with tcp/ip, and when it=20
restarted i=B4m unable to connect to the server.
The error log gives the error message "Bind failed on tcp=20
port 1434".
I can=B4t connect to the server in Entrprise manager, is=20
there any other way to configure the instance to listen to=20
naed pipes?
/Mike
Hi Mike,
By default the Clustered instance should listen on both Named Pipes and
TCP/IP. The problem here is that if we can't bind to the port,
the server doesn't come Online. If the server is not Online, then you
can't add the Named Pipes library back.
See if you can resolve why the server isn't binding to the port. Once the
server is up you can add Named Pipes back.
Thanks,
